HYBRIDCOMPS RATING · VERSION 3

# What can you train here?

50 points for training coverage. 40 for classes, community and sims. 10 for training access. Divide the score by 20 for stars out of five.

Classes give you people to train with, a chance to find a partner and support to push yourself. The rating rewards the breadth of the programme alongside the equipment.

**50**

## Training coverage

Overall training provision supported by published evidence.

**40**

## Classes and sims

Programme variety, community, introductions and practice events.

**10**

## Training access

Session access, functional space and running provision.

## Current research coverage

Checked 19 Oct 2026: 12122 listings are published. The international expansion added 4641 listings and withheld 3180 candidates where the source, branch or current training business could not be established, or the record was a duplicate.

International business identities and locations are cross-checked using automated first-party website text checks. Source-linked training assessments use structured text extraction; profiles awaiting a training assessment have no score. Native-language pages are not scored by English-only rules. These checks have not all received individual human review and do not guarantee current operation. Unchecked photographs earn no points. Individually reviewed image findings are identified on the relevant listing.

### Latest training review

Checked 22 Oct 2026: 50 previously unscored UK listings reviewed; 29 received source-linked assessments and 21 remain unscored. This review checked branch-specific text and 7 photographs from 6 venues. Across the directory, 10,976 profiles have a training score and 1,146 remain unscored. Earlier assessments were preserved. Unconfirmed provision means the reviewed sources do not establish it, rather than evidence that it is unavailable.

## Training coverage · 50 points

Equipment is evidence for an overall coverage assessment. We do not add points for each machine, station item or the number of identical setups.

- 0: no equipment-backed training provision established.
- 10: general preparation or a limited part of station training.
- 25: both strength and engine training.
- 35: strength, engine and several specialist training areas.
- 45: comprehensive hybrid preparation, with a dedicated programme covering engine, loaded strength, sled and wall-ball work.
- 50: published full station coverage, including ski, row, sled push/pull, wall balls, carries and loaded lunges.

These are overall coverage bands. The inventory explains what supports the band and what remains unconfirmed. Quantities, available loads, targets and booking restrictions help plan a visit and are listed separately. A race logo or generic race description alone does not establish coverage. Missing published provision earns no credit.

## Classes, community and sims · 40 points

- **Relevant group training · 10:** 4 for published general strength or conditioning classes; 10 for explicit coached hybrid race preparation. We award the higher tier, not both.
- **Class variety · 10:** 2 per distinct relevant discipline, up to five. Examples include general strength, Olympic weightlifting, conditioning, gymnastics skills, dedicated hybrid preparation, running, indoor cycling, Pilates and mobility. Similar class names do not multiply points.
- **Sessions for different groups · 5:** 1 per explicitly targeted group, up to five. Examples include women-only, seniors, beginners, adaptive training and competitive athletes. A generic “all welcome” statement is not a targeted session.
- **Beginner introductions · 5:** 2 for a published introductory session; 5 for a structured starter course or progressive foundation programme.
- **Sims and competitions · 10:** 3 for an evidenced hosted or publicly bookable fitness sim or competition; 6 for published recurring full-station sims; 10 for a current monthly-or-more full-station sim programme. Social events and football tournaments earn no sim points.

A beginner class can earn targeted-group credit; a separate structured introduction can also earn onboarding credit. These assess different benefits. A gym does not earn community points merely because its members might meet there.

## Training access · 10 points

- **Session access · 5:** 2 for bookable classes or supervised sessions; 5 for published independent gym access.
- **Station space · 3:** 3 for documented functional floor space or dedicated station lanes. Measurements are useful details rather than a prerequisite for training credit.
- **Running · 2:** 2 for a treadmill or published running provision. An integrated measured route is described when established.

## Parking, showers and amenities

These are referenced on each listing to help plan your visit. They do not affect the training score.

## The 100-point benchmark

Published full station coverage, a varied relevant class programme with targeted groups and a structured introduction, monthly full-station sims, independent access, functional training space and running provision. Capacity is described separately.

## Evidence and stars

We inspect websites, timetables, membership information, event pages and identifiable venue images. Sources and checked dates accompany each finding. Planned facilities, stock photos, a race-brand logo or hired equipment at a one-off event do not establish regular station access.

Unconfirmed facilities earn zero points. That describes what we can establish online, not proof that equipment is absent. We update ratings when new evidence is found or a gym confirms its facilities.

Stars equal score ÷ 20, displayed to two decimal places with proportional star fill. This is a training-provision index, not a customer review, official race certification or the percentage of your personal plan you can complete.
